They caught a lot of bugs in their net!

Jim and Mike demonstrated to the students how scientists kick up bugs from the bottom of a stream in order to collect them into a net.

The kids were amazed and a little "grossed out" at the pollutants that flowed into the nearby waterway when a "rainstorm" came.

The class discusses various pollutants that people might put into their environment. The Enviroscape model helped them to see farms, factories, construction sites, residential sites, and a golf course and how things we put on the ground might end up in our waterways.

Tom Kohlin explains to the class what a watershed and where Martinsburg is located in the Chesapeake Watershed.

Jody shows the students the path the fish travelled in her story on the map.

Jody Wallace gave a fantastic presentation of "Miss Lentic" and "Mr. Lotic" fish and their travels through the waterways of the Chesapeake Watershed.

The students had a great time creating fish prints of their own.

Jody Wallace shows students fish which are native to Pennsylvania. She then demonstrated the Japanese art of fish printing.

Here's Bill with a bottle full of water that he took from a little pool he found on Fox Glacier. Many of us filled our water bottles with the water to see if the rumors were true about the great, pure taste of glacial water.
